TBIAlive! Brain Injury Group

Welcome! We've survived, so let's enjoy the next step

Ever taken a fall and hit your head? Bumped it hard skiing, rafting, or even in a harmless little fender-bender and had to take the rest of the day (or week, or month) off?

Millions of people are injured with concussions of varying severity every year and then cast back into a life of work, relationships, and responsibilities as though nothing has changed. As a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor who has negotiated the challenging landscape of a proactive life post-trauma for 15 years, I know that there are resources, lifestyle choices, and habits available which survivors of each trauma can embrace to enable success and growth amid this startling experience.

Regardless of a trauma's severity every survivor's life must go on tomorrow, so rather than merely a support group  this Meetup is designed to enable empowering understanding, shared resources, and maybe even a few well-earned laughs along that path back into life.

The Secondary Trauma of re-engaging socially, professionally, and personally within a world which cannot understand our struggle is almost as painful as the original impact; consider this a TBI Opportunity Group built upon shared-experience and support, then come and join us for a cup of coffee sometime to move forward with your goals and show that none of us are defined by our injuries.

By building with each other upon each unique experience we can support one another through this process of recovery and reintegration, all the while enjoying that next positive step into the future.
